Mrs. Tigest Wako was born and raised in the town of Idedo in the region of Yirgacheffe. The Idedo Washing station is used by many local small farmers to process their coffees, of which Mrs. Tigest Wako is one of them. Her and her husband Mr. Abraham who is a local pastor in Idedo, along with their children work their 7,6 hectare farm that she inherited from her family. Because land in her culture is usually passed to males, this makes her one of the few female land owners.
